在“動(dòng)物三部曲”前兩部《奇怪的貓咪》和《女孩和蜘蛛》中，他們充分展現(xiàn)了 對(duì)日常生活中潛在的緊張局勢(shì)的捕捉能力 ，在狹隘、逼仄的房屋空間里，時(shí)間似乎可以隨意膨脹和伸縮，人物的心理也在一個(gè)接一個(gè)不同的微妙狀態(tài)間徘徊。

《煙囪里的麻雀》

故事發(fā)生在一所看似田園詩(shī)般恬淡的房子里，殊不知這是一口高壓鍋。無(wú)論是樹(shù)林、陽(yáng)光、草坪—— 自然界以一種不具侵略性的方式逐漸侵蝕人類的生活，這種侵蝕像是一種平衡，因?yàn)樯鐣?huì)習(xí)俗和限制逐漸被人類殘忍的本能取代。

崩塌的第一個(gè)跡象是一只困在壁爐里的麻雀 ，被女主人公 凱倫 即將進(jìn)入青春期的小兒子放生，然而這個(gè)家庭沒(méi)人能夠僥幸逃脫。

當(dāng)凱倫的妹妹一家三口抵達(dá)房子過(guò)周末時(shí)，凱倫例行公事般地和三人擁抱。作為女主人，凱倫即將目睹一堆糟心事，小兒子沉迷烹飪乃至虐貓，以對(duì)抗在學(xué)校受到的霸凌；

大女兒在外讀書，和家庭成員之間已蒙上一層距離感；小女兒對(duì)母親的敵意日益加深，她自詡為洛麗塔，對(duì)家庭充滿恨意，渴望逃離，并正在探索自己的性欲。

這次聚會(huì)緣起于丈夫馬庫(kù)斯的生日，然而他意興闌珊，只想安躺于鄰居情人的床上。

所有人物出場(chǎng)之后，一場(chǎng) 契訶夫 式的戲碼呼之欲出， 家庭這個(gè)通常被視為愛(ài)和支持的小團(tuán)體成了壓抑、控制和怨恨且難以擺脫的噩夢(mèng)，凱倫親眼看著自己的家庭分崩離析。

盡管影片的氛圍令人感到幽閉，但空間比起前兩部作品大了不少。

影片 現(xiàn)實(shí)主義 的部分，很容易叫人聯(lián)想起理查德·耶茨的小說(shuō)《 復(fù)活節(jié)游行 》；超現(xiàn)實(shí)主義的后半部分，則標(biāo)志著他們?cè)噲D以更豐富多彩的方式探索情感和身體的暴力。

在表現(xiàn)平平的一眾2024年電影中，《煙囪里的麻雀》對(duì)人與人關(guān)系的微妙把握與狹小空間內(nèi)的視聽(tīng)設(shè)計(jì)，令人眼前一亮。
